Really what happens a lot of the time is they create an oblate sphere
condition that causes a TDE to develop.

Just keep it spherical through fine grinding.
This discussion inspired me to update the fine grinding section of my
full-size lap web page.

Look under section 0.1, Fine Grinding, for some tips. There is no
excuse for not coming out of 5u with a beautiful sphere and a perfect
grind.
After that, read my oblate sphere page:

If you avoid the pitfalls mentioned on those pages, you'll probably be
ahead of the game.
