Atmosphere turbulence (seeing) and air thermal currents
in the telescope do not cause stable and sharp ghosts and this is
what I understood you have had.
This kind of turbulence is cause of image movements on the
relatively short time scale and image is unsharp more or less.

It seems that your scope did not come to thermal equilibrium
but what was exact cause of ghosts like those in your drawing
for me remains still unresolved.

Are you able to supply photos of ghosts.
