This is a good start but you have a long way to go. I'm not sure is I would
spend much time thinking about figuring the mirror right now. That comes
later. Try working the tool on top for about two hours, in thirty minute
increments, followed by a cooling down period and cold pressing, then
alternate tool on top and mirror on top for thirty minute periods for
another three to four hours.
You will know that you are polished when light from a bright, close source,
does not show on the surface of the mirror, but passes through. I inspect
such light with a cheap microscope that I bought from my daughter who works
at Radio Shack. It costs about ten dollars.
If there are any ATMs in your area, try to get together with them for a
workshop session. I find that the most productive method of making mirrors.
