Unlike grit, you don't wsh the CeO off of a lap.  You just apply
more.  Aside from CEO going into the lap, the other loss is just
runoff of the CEO  and water.  Cleaning a lap is a process of
scraping the turface of the lap and that is generally not done
for most mirrors.
Also, don't worry about perfection of the lap.  John Dobson has
shown many times that the lap doesn't need to have any superfine
details to work well.
