Re: [ATM] Ghosts in the Coulter

I missed the beginning of this thread but this looks like pinched or warped
optics to me. How are the primary and secondary mirrors mounted? Are
either of them glued or too tightly pinched in their mountings?

Subject: [ATM] Ghosts in the Coulter

I posted a question a few weeks back about Ghosts in a 10 inch Coulter. I
got a lot of great responses and one at a time they have all failed.
There are still ghosts on a bright image. I looked at Venus with the
scope and I see a nice bright image and 6 ghosts of Venus in a little
cluster on the lighted side. I have included a link to a simple sketch I
uploaded to the board.

The blue half circle represents the focused image.

Could these all be eyepiece reflections?

It is a very short focus scope, f4.1, is this sort of thing common in
short focus scopes?
