RTMC is not off-topic!  RTMC is an acronym for Riverside Telescope Making
Conference. See: http://www.rtmcastronomyexpo.org/  As the founding RTMC
group in Riverside were true TN's, RTMC has always been held on Memorial day
weekend and not during the new moon as it would be if they were only
observers and not ATMers.
 BTW, I attended my first  RTMC when it held in Riverside at RCC. I was a
member of the RAS, introduced to astronomy by RAS's Cliff Holmes, when
meetings were held at Victoria S&L and star parties were held in Gavilan
Hills (south of Lake Mathews).but then that was the late '60s and things
were a bit hazy  ;-)
