[ATM] make pitch lap tool

I am getting ready to make a 16 in pitch lap tool I like your help on
ideas for the backing and weight ?
 with tool on top what is the best way to separate them when done with
polishing and need to clean between application of CEO cream ?
I had real problem with my tool and have discovered it works best after
pulling the tool 90% I tip it down to break suction this has stopped
chipping the outer edge of the mirror and stopped chipping the outer
tiles. is there a better method ?
