Re: [ATM] Reducing the outer zone in figuring - I did it! My first mirror is done!

I don't understand how I finally got the outer zone to cooperate, but I
did it, and my mirror is done! According to FigureXP, it is has 1/23
P-V wavefront error, and a Strehl ratio of 0.995. Here are the numbers
(yes, verified again and again and averaged):

If you don't understand you could try to do it again ;)

***!!!JUST KIDDING!!!***

*** Congrats!!! Finishing the first mirror, and especially to an excellent
figure is a huge relief and brings out a lot of pride. It sounds like you
mirror went similar to mine. A LOT of learning experiences, a lot of
fighting TDE, and ending up with a great end result. Just finished my scope
last night (!) so first light will be tonight. Get that in a scope ASAP and
don't let the larger mirror slow progress on the first one of course :)

Glad to see your doing a bigger one. I am now working on a 10" and it seems
to be flying by (lot of those lessons learned are paying off now!)

Congrats on an EXCELLENT mirror. Your numbers look fantastic; the mirror
looks pretty smooth and has a pretty good edge. Good Job!

Get viewing with it,

Mitch
