Wrong photo as that one was before the grinding.  You wanted the
harry2 photo.
I'd not believe that it was an hour of grinding as that should
have really ground all of the glass flat.  I've had people grind
to F6 on a 8" disk with 80 grit in 2 hours with an iron tool so
an hour at 180 grit should have dug a fair hole on the glass.  It
would have had to be extremely cirved. to the obvious point of
being curved, in order to have been only ground to that point.
I'll also note that the lines are rather gradual in their
disappearance.  This indicates that the glass in that area is
fairly close to the ground surface.
