I was considering doing it the same way Russ, but my experience
with Dremels (or their clones) is not good. I heed the common
thread though, ie fast tool RPM, plenty of water/coolant and
slow controlled feed of the work.

My mind may change when I have the grinding/polishing machine
finished and I can do it in situ, but I am hoping that I can get
away with one good initial chamfer at the start, of 4mm to 5mm
(5/32" to 3/16"). The mirror curve has been pregenerated to a very
nice finish so hopefully I won't be removing too much glass
aywhere, chamfer included.
