Re: [ATM] Beveling Pyrex or Plate glass

Hi Russ:

Sounds like a nice arrangement. Is there any way the rest of us could get a
photo showing what your jig looks like?

Richard, I have no experience beveling on a milling machine. I use a
dremmel tool with a diamond coated grinding drum that is about 1/2" in
diameter. The dremmel is mounted on a homemade jig that angles the cutting
edge at 45 degrees. I have a small plastic tube (like the WD 40 straw) that
shoots a water jet right to the diamond drum wheel. The dremmel rotates at
variable RPM's and I have found that around 10,000 to 15,000 rpms works
best. I just rotate the tool around the blank by hand , as you would a
router. The bevels come out nice and there is no glass dust just white mud
that is washed into the grassy ground to hook up with his brothers the sand
particles....
