Ultimate test for figuring is star test (beside interferometry perhaps).
Is there something equivalent for testing quality of polish.
How will insufficiently polished surface affect image in scope.
I mean not obviously bad polish but polish that looks good to some
 and not so good to others like the case addressed by  this thread.
