[ATM] Berry out of date?
I've made the Berry 6" dob design. I've also made a 6" based upon the 8" design given in "The Dobsonian Telescope: A Practical Manual for Building Large Aperture Telescopes (Hardcover)" - also by Berry. The latter design uses a cardboard concrete form for the OTA. I found the latter design much better. It was way lighter: a joy to quickly pull out of the trunk and set up. Plus it uses a lighter lower rocker box. I made the second scope to give to my neice leaving me with the plywood OTA scope. I hated to give it away and plan to retire the playwood scope after I build another of the new design. My two cents :-)
