The downward force doesn't change so you just need to calculate
the instantaneous overlap area and calculate pressure from F/A.
Not sure what you mean by pressure distribution - if it isn't
even over the full contact area then the tool isn't rigid
enough.

I'm doing a similar job, but have a driven tool and am
calculating a tool RPM profile and tool position profile based
on the difference between the wanted mirror profile and the
known current profile.
