Re: [ATM] OT: increasing mpg

OT? Well, the list considers modifying equipment for astronomical use to be
on-topic. However, this thread seems a bit scary in suggesting modification
to a vehicle that compromise safety (such as overinflating tires, etc.). If
you really want to save gas while observing, follow tip #3 from

http://www.cartalk.com/content/features/fueleconomy/

Take a buddy observing. You'll be halving the gas you would have used
travelling separately to a dark site. Of course, you may have to sleep in the
back seat if your buddy tsays up later than you, but such is life. Also,
having a buddy to talk to on the way home improves safety.

Clear skies.
