Re: [ATM] How to Reduce Bearing Friction EQ version
The 1/4" shafts against the rim are intended to
produce a lot of friction. The bearings that the
shafts occupy are isolated from the rim, where
friction is not the issue. Metal vs. metal is the
idea here.
Skateboard wheels are generally of a softish, rubbery
urethane. Everything is rubber at 600x, and
skateboard wheels would be like tidal waves. Metal
vs. metal, in this case, would be ideal. As much of
the mount as possible will be constructed of metal. I
am seeking a piece of aluminum U-channel for the RA
frame, but if I can't find that a few pieces of 1"
square tube will do. Rigidity where it counts.
