I have no experience what so ever with such a short f ratio as f:3.12. I
doubt I ever will. But for sure to fix a hyperbola you will not live to see
it a parabola by digging it deeper in the center regardless of how long
lived you may be in the end.

Either I misunderstand the shape you have or the action you are taking to
fix it.

Or you misunderstand your predicament.
