[ATM] ATM: Perfect Scope (I came close)
Hey guys-
I came close to building a "perfect" scope. Only, the heaviest piece weighed
almost 55 lbs, A little bit heavier than allowed for the perfect one, as I
gather, by observing the continuing thread.
One person could disassemble it, load it in a vehicle, unload it, and
re-assemble it, without tools or fasteners of any kind!! It had no field
rotation, and could be latitude adjustable between Big Bear Lake and the
Florida Keys (I exaggerate a little bit, here; but it was latitude
adjustable over about forty degrees) had a "universal mirror cell mounting
platform". The little girl in the picture would have had no trouble handling
all seven components by herself. ("Katie"- isn't she a beauty? No, the
scope, not the pretty girl, numbskulls! :-)

Thanks for letting me brag. Mount could take optics between 16" and 20".
BTW, have any of you guys (I know at least one of you has noticed) that
somehow the default typeface for "plain text" has, without our permission,
been changed from New Times Roman to something else? I'm not sure I like
this invasion of my personal preferences and privacy, but what can I, or
anyone else do, about King Billy Gates? I guess it's okay with me; I think
he is a nice guy, succeeded without pointing guns at any one's head, and
gives, to charitable causes, in the BILLIONS.
Dave
(Thanks for letting me brag a bit)
