Dave,  I knew you would be in the "mechanical attachment" camp.  Thank
God there are a few of us left on the list.  

Both my 6" and 12.5" are retained on their respective cells by a coller
with a lip arrangement.  I make a short tube out of
epoxy/fiberglass/model plywood big enough to fit loosely around the
mirror and over the edge of the cell.  Then I cut several 1/4 inch wide
strips of the model plywood and stack 2-3 of them on one end, completely
around the circumference.  It reduces the mirror by less than 3/16 inch,
but there are no clips visible.

Still praying for the both of you to return to health!
