I was thinking of something like this, incorporating an idea for a baffle mentioned in a previous thread.

The baffle (in green) is made of Kydex and attaches directly to the mirror. The mirror bevel allows the baffle to stay in place without blocking any reflective surface. Aside from blocking ambient light from underneath, it serves as part of the manifold. Weatherstripping could be used to keep airflow and ambient light from leaking past the edge of the baffle (except where the manifold is located, of course).

The diagram doesn't necessarily show the full height of the mirror box. It will need to be at least a few inches taller to make room for the truss clamps.
