Why not use 2 simple hinges at 90 deg to each other instead of one pivot?
E.g. one to join the members of the tee, and one at the center of the triangle 
connecting it to the base framework?

Advantages: 1 Rotation locked. 2 Simple ready-made components to simplify the 
mechanics.
Disadvantages?
