Bob is right. If I remember correctly Poisson's ratio for plate is about
1.22, for Pyrex about 1.24. Since the figure is created by adjusting the
tension and testing i.e. star testing, zonal, auto-collimation, etc., the
required tension to optimize the optic may be slightly different for
different materials. Alternatively, if the tension can be applied as
calculated by flex, the optic will have nearly the correct shape.
For precise tensioning, Alan Adler has, but has not published a flex program
that requires entering the Poisson's ratio for the selected material. An
example might be carbon fiber composite mirrors.
