The stamp of Rome is all over us. We are Roman colonists of Roman colonists.
I have messsages to you about this waiting in quee; anyone else wants to see
them, so be it. It is mostly about my wife, who wants to die at home. She is
sure she will die before fall.
As for ATM-ing: What the bloop ever happened to caustic testing? It is
beautiful and elegant, and was quite popoular in the '50s. I designed my
"giant measuring engine" for caustic; Gordon Tulloch has put it up on a page
of its own (thanks, Gordon).
I once had a "great Light"- here are his initials, he was named after a
famous patriot: P---L J---? tell me this about Caustic and Foucalt:
"They are both USELESS; they cannot measure wavefront error more accurately
than one third wave."
I will never, ever, forget my conversation with this "Great Man", (he called
me, after seeing my little dinky first ad in Sky and Tel: "The Mirror
Doctor") who owns an instrument making company, but for who my contractor,
Parks Optical, had to reject a few mirrors from (having them done under
contract).
ATM-ing is full of the most eccentrtic people possible, don't you guys
think?
Dave
