One time I got lap print through that I decided was probably due to 
chemical etch during prolonged, as in overnight, cold pressing.  I was 
using Cerium Oxide at the time.  That was on BVC.  Pyrex is probably 
more resistant to etching, it is usually a bit more chemically resistant 
than other glass types.  Plate might be similar to BVC in tht 
department, but I don't really know.
