Oliver,
I've found one thing VERY effective with TDE: Use a warm
lap. Really warm. Almost flowing warm. Use TOT, narrow,
short W strokes. Think about the situation...it's just like
you've roughed out a blank, but the curve hasn't reached
the edge, so you have to spread the curve out to overtake
the edge. The soft lap helps maintain contact as the curve
shifts...since you are lengthening the whole mirror (very
little...but it's still moving glass). That's my two cents
worth...but I've found it works wonders, and does so quite
quickly (try 15-20 minutes at a time).
