Oliver, those are indeed some wonderful foucaultgrams! Although it may not 
apply strictly to your own mirror, I think one of the best ways to *produce* a 
Turned Down Edge is to bevel your lap so that it is slightly subdiameter. It 
may sound counter-intuitive, but a slightly oversized lap will cure TDE pretty 
rapidly. Instead of adding a layer of pitch to the top of the lap, maybe try 
taping a dam around the lap and adding some pitch to bring the diamter out to 
10.5 inches. Might help.
