    Oliver,   Your photos are nothing but fantastic of your mirror.... They 
are very detailed and
reveal many statements of your progress..  It looks to me that you gave up 
grinding your
sphere a little to early to jump to the pitch lap...  The central ring looks 
like an unfinished grinding
process... The edge does looked turned down, but this is not as drastic as 
the unfinished areas
that show their face in the photos provided.
     Someone else on the list will have to tell you to keep on polishing or 
go back... I can not tell
you at this point ( you are on the edge) The center gouge ring will not be 
polished out. If you are
willing to live with that, the outer edges will come around... You have an 
ungrinded circle in this
