I'm trying to do a 6" corrector for a F1.95 mirror and it required
12.5lb/in^2 for a .170" thick piece of glass.  I've had two failures so far
with the glass cracking at some time or another during the polishing.  The
second one just cracked when I walked into the room.
2" of vacuum should be no problem at all.
