Very familiar with the wonderful idea of the relay Cassegrain reflector.
Have been corresponding with another list member about the Gregorian
compound telescope- it is also, essentially, a "relay" telescope, but one
that does not have to use lenses. It relays the image, formed in the empty
space inside the tube between mirrors ("aerial image") back to the the focal
plane, right side up, and "correct"- not mirror reversed. Celestron offered
a 60 mm "corrected" (corrector plate) Gregorian spotting scope years ago. I
don't think to many were interested; you can see one in the film "Water
World", produced, directed, and starring Kevin Costner.
