Re: [ATM] ATM: James's zip file-
Dan,
The machine shop I hired out to part that sucker rod in the lathe were angry
at me when I came back; it was so hard that they broke several ceramic
cutting tips trying to part it. I had to end up (they did) cutting it with a
torch; they didn't even do me the courtesy of dressing the ugly flame cut
ends. My dad and I did that with his "King Feng Fu" Pedestal Grinder. Sucker
Rod is HARD!!!
When I was employed designing and building small, very complex manufacturing
machines for a firm in Tulsa, I had a copy of the old WW-II "Bridgeport"
milling machine that I spent so many hours in front of that I got sick of
it; what I got sick of was the highly amusing label, at eye level, on the
spindle housing: "Another Glorious Product from the People's Republic of
China" (Glorious?) - Ha! ha! Is not the world a truly amusing place as an
abode for us irrational creatures?
Ha! Life never ceases to amaze me. See my other post where about two hundred
pounds of Sky and Telescope magazines nearly killed me and my wife once.
Be well, Dan, and all-
Dave
