ATM About making a glass blank
Hello All,
I have been reading the archive messages
and looking through the web for some time now, but
still been unable to find any specific reference to
the how its done, on this subject.
has anyone on the list ever melted down some glass and
made there own blank, if so how did it turn out,and
what did you think of the whole idea.
does anyone have links to sites on the subject with
more information.
I would like to make a blank in the 16" to 20"
range,"make" because I doubt I could ever afford to
buy one.
One main question is this, can one use glass(broken
up, evenly sized pieces of wine or soda bottles and
such)
as is or must there be an additive in the mix?
A lot more question to be asked on subject, but this
is first I could think of.
So anyone with some insight and/or experience with
making a glass blank.
I know I will more likely then not be steered away
from this idea, but it has been a thought for some
time, just wondering about the realities of/and the
outcome.
Thanks
Rick
