ATM pitch getting hard

Well, I had to take a week long break from figuring, and I think my pitch
hardened up on me pretty good.  

Since I now have to temper it, I am wondering if turpatine will work ok.  
I can't find turpentine anywhere, and the turpatine adhered it to the tool
really well.  

Any suggestions on how to go about this?  

>From recent posts, I suppose I can put it in the freezer, chip it off,
remelt it and add some turpatine.

Does this sound right?
