About a year ago (Feb '94) Scientific American did an article on spun mercury mirrors and their optical quality. "Amateur Scientist" showed how to spin a respectable quality mirror on a record player in that same issue. Has anyone tried this? This certainly seems like the right place to ask... :-)

I spun a 5" mirror of polyurethane, but never got around to silvering it...is it possible to silver polyurethane?
