Re: [ATM] No meeting tonight
Hi Francis,
We always welcome visitors to our TM Group. If people show up regularly, we would request
that they join the LVAAS. There is no additional charge to members, other than the materials
they supply themselves. We often have non members show up with questions, or requiring
help with collimation or polar alignment of their new scopes, and we always try to get their
issues taken care of.
Our format is a bit different than a lot of TM classes, in that generally members do their work
at home, then bring their projects and questions to the monthly meetings. Depending on what
is currently being worked on by the members, the sessions could range from testing to
general bull sessions. I am hoping to have my new fold up 10"f/5 twin truss Dob finished for
the next meeting which is March 30th. ( I cheated and bought a mirror for this one, it had to
be done in time for a vacation)
For directions to the LVAAS, or for more information see our web site at: www.lvaas.net
The LVAAS is totally membership funded, not being affiliated with museums, universities,
etc. We operate 2 observing sites with 8 observatories, again all volunteer maintained, so
sometimes some are off line.
The TM class is held at the South Mountain, Allentown, PA site. It begins at 7:00 PM The
next couple meetings are March 30, May 4, June 1
