I have made barlows from the 35 mm camera telelconverters. Worked nice and
were inexpensive.  I later acquired a couple of  barlows which did not
perform any better (at least to my poor eyes ).

The book "Making a Refractor Telescope" by Norman Remer discusses making
refractor lens. Is it practical for an ATM to use these techniques build
their own Barlows?

Or is it just better to just buy Barlows.
