I just bought a 5" one too, it has not arrived yet.

For folks looking at doing this there are some good
buys on mitutoyo digital dial indicators on ebay, just
got a 0.00005 resolution dial gauge for 57- that I
plan on using with the 1800destiny sphereometer.

I'm also going to take the sphereometer to a machine
shop to get an exact read on the diameter of the
measuring circle where the balls are mounted.  This
should increase the accuracy of the ROC calcs.
