Re: [ATM] smoothing f12 5" mirror

Mitch and Steve - thanks for the advice - I smoothed for 45 min. and managed to not change my figure.  As Steve suggested, I put primary focus on looking with my eye.  I took a series of pics with my camera and each shot seemed to show different topography - I think I may have been looking at thermals.
   
  Anyway - I think I'm ready to move on.  
   
  Working on this mirror was Bill Kelley's idea (when I told him I wanted to try making some flats he said - "do an f12 first and then see if you still want to")  - and I must say it has been fun to figure such a slow mirror.  I see flats in my future!
