In order to obtain quick drying by evaporation of solvent, ether was used
for solvent.
This is probably main reason why it is considered as hazardous.
Highly flammable ether in combination with combustible
nitrocellulose may warrant heavy burns if spilled and glued to skin and
caught fire.
Although it was used for cleaning optics, I will avoid it. There are
other, les hazardous and still efficient methods.

Have you seen declaration for this product. What does it contains?
