[ATM] Protect a finished optical surface to work on reverse
On the first polishing attempt with my Elgin, I managed to "polish" a few
spots from slippage on the underside of the corrector with TOT when I didn't
use newspaper under the corrector I was polishing. Now that I will be
placing a finished surface on the bottom, I want to protect it from any wear
what with CeO all over the place much less from any contact with normal
washing or accidental brushing against my wedding ring or whatever else.
I was thinking something as simple as plastic wrap but that seems like it
would get annoying with washing.
It seems like latex paint would peel off nicely but hopefully not stick too
bad to require aggressive removal.
What I was wondering was what do you use, both to coat and to dissolve when
you are finished?
