Thanks for checking my math Vlad! 

I had used those formulas myself, but must have had my
units wrong... dunno.. anyhoo... f/20 huh? Zoinks..
looks like I'll need to use a 3" f/20 scopes to keep
the length down to 6 feet. Then, stack four of them to
get an 8.5" wide aperature.

I think that pretty much kills it due to cost and
complexity. Imagine trying to register four seperate
images at once and keep them registered! Ugh.

A 6" Herschelian needs to be slower than f/20 for
acceptable 
center-field quality.
