Re: [ATM] Just starting out

Re:> Hi,

.... very simple tools that do not require any substantial investment...can
be used to make a telescope out of that 8" within better than +or - .25 of
whatever your desired f/n....I would say.."hey! no sweat!...we can just
build the other parts a little longer/shorter...etc"...at around f/6 on an
8" chunk of glass we are talking ballpark 3/1000 of an inch between f/5.75
and f/6 a whopping 2" in focal length. I'm no expert at all..., but the
only real reasons i can think of to make a newtonian telescope of an
absolute "exact" f/n do not pertain to casual observation...you'll still
wind up with a telescope better than the last one you built...no matter what
focal length you shoot for.

Have fun...!!!,
