Re: [ATM] First time

Mr. Clay,

I'd try the f/6 this time. I myself am just completing one. It will provide
you with the perfect introduction to amateur astronomy, and will not be
difficult to make.

I recommend that you also find an amateur telescope maker's workshop in
your area if at all possible. The ideas gained from others who are
similarly situated will prove helpful to all.

I further recommend reading a book by Norm Remer called "Making a Refractor
Telescope" from Willmann Bell. Don't let the title deceive you. This book
is about the best reference you will ever find for any type of telescope
making. I'm reading it cover to cover, not a hard thing to do with this
book. It contains an unprecedented level of insight and detail organized in
logical fashion on the processes involved in shaping glass to properly bend
light.

I'll write a review on the book for the list in a couple of weeks, but
trust me, this is a seminal work in the field of amateur optics.
