Hi,

    I'm awaiting my shipment of glass and grit kit from gotgrit.com.  Now I've never done a mirror before and would like some suggestions.  I have an 8" glass blank comming and can't decide what f value I should grind to.  Should I do the beginner f/6 like I keep reading or go with a different value.  I want to be able to see the planets as clear as possible and do deep sky as well.  I will eventually build a motorized setup for astrophotography but for now it will be just for my daughter and I.  I would like any and all input available.
