I've updated my web page / figuring log for my 10" flats. I've made quite a
bit of progress and now have all three plates close to flat (A=0, B=-3 and
C=-0.5 waves concave) I should get plate B sorted out tonight, and then the
real fun begins! I am already running into problems with getting the
surfaces clean enough and dust free to provide reliable fringe patterns. A
single invisible mote of dust can (and undoubtedly has) skew the tests
dramatically. Up to now I have been doing rather rough-and-ready "ball park"
testing, but the gloves come off from here on in! Dust is my sworn enemy -
it's official!
