Yep, dewedging is pretty easy.  I'm slowly working on a 6"
doublet and the flint had .007" of wedge in it and it took about
10 wets of 12 micron to remove most of it before I got serious
with getting it to 0".  The hardest part was making sure I got it
back to spherical without taking too much off of the glassbut
even that wasn't hard.  It is going to be longer with that much
larger piece of glass as there will be much more glass to remove.
Luckily, both pieces of glass need about the same amount of wedge
to remove but even that isn't hard as one piece would then get
the differential grind while the other would rotate to just
remove glass.  I've got about .010" of spare glass in the lenses
for thickness so that should be just fine for this job.
