Re: [ATM] Lens Wedge

Interesting that these thoughts about lens wedge are coming up
now. One of my students is working on a Houghton and the lenses
are about to be started on and the wedge in each of them is about
0.003" in each of them for a 13" lens. I want the lenses to have
less than a thou of wedge in order to be happy.
The way that I look at it is that with wedge, you can consider
the perfect lens and then add a wedge of that angle and thickness
of 0 at one end into the lignt path at or near the lens and
calculate how much this affects the image. I just did a quick
check with OpticsLab and, with a .1deg. wedge in the path,
Without any values, you can spot the different colors have been
shifted a bit with that much of a wedge.
