See for example http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~zs3t-tk/matrix/matrix.htm and
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~zs3t-tk/aim/aim.htm for a very thorough treatise
on coordinate transformation. AltAz to Equatorial transformation only works
when you have a flawless telescope mount which is very well levelled.

Someone (Tom Krajci?) also has an Excel spreadsheet online, can't find it
though. If you can't either I can send a copy off list, provided I can dig
it up from 40 GB of junk.
