[ATM] question about tiles on a beveled glass tool

Hi All -

Having recently finished a 10" f/5.1 mirror -- thanks to loads of help
from the Springfield Telescope Makers' class -- I am now jumping back in
time and picking up the 6" project I abandoned in the mid 70s. It's a
smaller mirror, but in a way a big deal for me.

FWIW, I am going to put this into a scope for an old college friend and
his sons to use on their NE Ohio farm.

Anyhoo, what I have is an Edmund 6" blank and a glass tool. I never got
too far with the mirror (my discovery of girls intervened) so will be
jumping right in at 60# or 80# grit.

My question concerns epoxying hex tiles to the glass tool. If you've seen
one of these Edmund tools you'll know that they have a pretty large 45deg
bevel on them -- I'm guessing almost 1/4" worth.

If I use strong 2 ton epoxy to attach hex tiles to this tool, can
they/should they overlap the edge of the bevel? Or should that be avoided?
Or does it matter? :)

Thanks,

Glenn Becker
