Re: [ATM] Time to quit AOL
My partner at our little ISP has to maintain an account for his wife
with AOL! She wants it. Period. :( Back when they were giving away
access by the bucket load, I didn't like it for free. I wanted a
connection to the net. Nothing else. Theirs was slow. I hated the
front end. Some people love it and are used to it. Like using telnet
and pine. ;) (I used pine for years and it is a great little package,
but you can't click on links and the net has a lot more to offer now
than it did when pine was developed. Clickable links is why I finally
stopped using it.)
Remember, out goal is to try and get a solution that EVERYONE can use.
Added functionality is a bonus. We need a solution for AOL users just
as we need one for people that pay high rates for access. This isn't
easy but ignoring problems is not the answer. The frame work is being
imposed on us.
