Re: [ATM] Time to change the list format?

Is this an urban legend?

>We have a bunch of members that are
>either bandwidth limited, or are paying by bandwidth .

(This is very likely not true.)

At the beginning we paid for time, speed was low,
and prices high.
As speed increased there was tendency to pay per bytes.
In the end prices were down and companies were
compensated by ever increasing number of users.
Using yesterdays arguments for today's situation, is not productive.
Something that did not changed for sure is human psychology.
If allowed people will post as many pictures as possible
because "one-picture-is-worth-thousand-words" dogma.
Self-restraint is not to be expected at once. Even extensive quoting
could not be restrained in present list, although only a limited number
of persons misbehave in this way.
I have ADSL and basic fee is for half gigabytes. I am far from
using my quota, and I will risk with allowing pictures (and html).
Perhaps for a limited test period, to see how people will react.
Than we shall have more to ponder about than urban legend-like
profeting.

And one question at the end: Why we should tolerate AOL. Isn't
there enough competition with less arogance. Is there such thing as
"free market" or is this just another urban legend.

Regards
Vladimir.
